Bee Fortress Side Shields (set of 4) are white on one side, and black on the other, so the sun’s energy can either warm the hive, or shield the hive from the sun’s heat. A set of (4) Corner Guards and (2) Ratchet Straps are needed to hold the Shields in place on a Langstroth hive. The Fortress Hive does not need Ratchet Straps.
